Why I’m Starting This Blog
Hello, my name is Wendel Rigsby, and I love being an entrepreneur while assisting others.
I decided to start this blog because I want to document my journey as I learn how to build an online business. Like many people, I’ve spent time looking at different opportunities and trying to understand what works and what doesn’t. Instead of jumping from one thing to another, I wanted to find a clear path that I could follow and learn from step by step.
This blog will be my place to share what I’m learning, the progress I’m making, the challenges I encounter, and the lessons I pick up along the way. I am not claiming to be an expert. In fact, I’m just getting started. My goal is simply to be honest about my experience and hopefully help other beginners who are looking for a place to start.
Why I Chose Affiliate Marketing
After researching different online business models, I decided to focus on affiliate marketing.
What attracted me to affiliate marketing is that I don’t need to create my own products to get started. Instead, I can promote products and services that already exist and earn commissions when qualified sales are made through my affiliate links.
As a beginner, this seemed like a practical way to learn important online business skills such as marketing, traffic generation, content creation, and relationship building.
I also like the fact that affiliate marketing allows me to learn while taking action. There is still work involved, but I don’t have to spend months creating a product before getting started. I can focus on learning how to connect people with solutions that may help them.
Of course, I understand that affiliate marketing is not a shortcut to success. Like any business, it requires patience, learning, and consistent effort. However, it gives me a starting point that makes sense for where I am right now.
Why List Building Matters
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned so far is the importance of building an email list.
At first, I thought the goal was simply to send traffic directly to an offer and hope someone buys. But the more I learned, the more I realized that this approach can leave a lot of opportunities on the table.
When someone visits an offer and leaves without taking action, that connection is often lost forever. There is no way to follow up, provide additional information, or continue building trust.
An email list is different.
By building an email list, I am creating an asset that I have more control over. Instead of relying entirely on social media platforms, advertising platforms, or search engines, I have a way to stay connected with people who are interested in what I’m sharing.
This doesn’t mean sending endless sales messages. It means building relationships, providing value, sharing useful information, and giving people the opportunity to learn more over time.
As I continue learning affiliate marketing, I believe list building will be one of the most important skills I develop.
Why I Joined The ClickBank Profit Club
As I was looking for a way to get started, I wanted something that offered more than just information. I wanted a system that could help guide me through the process.

What appealed to me was that it provides training, a setup process, follow-up emails, and a structured path for beginners to follow.
Instead of trying to figure everything out on my own, I can follow a system that has already been put together. For someone who is new to affiliate marketing, having a step-by-step process makes the learning curve feel much less overwhelming.
I also like the fact that the system includes list-building components. Rather than simply sending visitors directly to an offer, the focus is on building an email list while promoting a proven system.
For me, this approach makes a lot of sense because it combines learning affiliate marketing with building a long-term asset at the same time.
Most importantly, I understand that this is not a get-rich-quick system. I do not expect instant results. I know there is work involved, and I know I still have a lot to learn.
What I do feel is that I finally have a clearer starting point and a roadmap that I can follow as I continue developing my online business skills.
What I’ll Be Doing Next
Over the coming weeks and months, I’ll be focused on learning, implementing, and documenting my progress.
Some of the things I’ll be working on include:
- Learning how to generate traffic.
- Building and growing my email list.
- Creating content consistently.
- Understanding how affiliate marketing works in practice.
- Tracking what works and what doesn’t.
- Sharing lessons learned along the way.
I plan to be transparent about both the successes and the challenges because I believe there is value in sharing the real journey, not just the highlights.
